TBN 2nd Chance Takes Life-Changing Television to Prisons Across Oregon

Los Angeles (October 14, 2014)

Trinity Broadcasting Network,ย the nationโ€™s largest religious broadcaster, announced that it is partnering with the Oregon Department of Corrections to launch several of TBNโ€™s most popular inspirational networks in all 14 of the stateโ€™s correctional facilities throughย TBN 2nd Chance, the networkโ€™s innovative initiative that takes life-changing faith programming to prisons across the nation.

Since its launch in 2007, TBN 2nd Chance has provided TBNโ€™s 24-hour inspirational programming to over 750 prisons in more than thirty states, impacting a potential of nearly one million inmates. TBN covers the cost of equipment and installation, providing inmates with up to four of its popular faith networks: TBNโ€™s flagship channel, its JUCE TV network for young adults,ย Hillsong Channel, and the Enlace Spanish-language faith network.

Mark Reynolds, national director for TBN 2nd Chance, said that the program โ€” which gives inmates 24-hour access to church and ministry programs, relevant Bible studies, engaging talk shows, clean movies and comedy, extreme sports, music, and many other types of programs โ€” has the potential of impacting nearly 15,000 men and women incarcerated in Oregonโ€™s state correctional facilities.

โ€œThese powerful networks, installed by TBN 2nd Chance in correctional facilities across America, are helping to plant seeds of hope and healing in the lives of tens of thousands of men and women serving time in prison,โ€ said Reynolds. โ€œThrough the help and prayer of our many partners, along with the planning and mutual agreement of the stateโ€™s correctional officials, we look forward to this same success throughout Oregonโ€™s prison facilities.โ€

Oregon is not the first state to welcome the program into all of its prisons. TBN 2nd Chance has installed its select networks in all of Californiaโ€™s state prisons, including two of its most notorious โ€” Folsom Prison with more than 3,000 inmates, and San Quentin, where over 5,000 inmates in Californiaโ€™s oldest correctional facility have access to TBNโ€™s channels.

And beginning with its once notorious Angola State Penitentiary โ€” the nationโ€™s largest maximum security facility โ€” Louisiana has also welcomed TBN 2nd Chance into all of its prisons and facilities.

TBN President Matthew Crouch emphasized that TBN 2nd Chance is an important part of TBNโ€™s global broadcast outreach. โ€œFrom neighborhoods to nations, from households and families to communities of every kind, TBN is committed to taking the gospel message to every corner of the earth through Christian television,โ€ he said. โ€œWe are thankful for the success we have witnessed through TBN 2nd Chance, and we look forward to Godโ€™s continued blessing over all of TBNโ€™s broadcast efforts around the world.โ€
